Make your own leather boots
November 22–24, 2024
Learn how to make your own pair of flat soled leather boots, fully unique and made on your feet!
During these days you will learn how to make a pattern for your feet and the style of shoe you want. We will transfer the pattern onto paper, and later onto leather. You will also learn how to stitch the shoes the right way.
Last but not least I will run you through the soling options. This part will have to be finished at home due to the drying time of the glue, but you will be provided with the rubber sole. Due to limited time in a course setting we will make boots that will reach just a little higher than your ankle, or lower.
You will leave with a pair of hand made and truly unique leather boots, plus the pattern and knowledge to make many more to come!
Teacher: Beke Olbers, tanner from the Netherlands

For a pair of shoes that will be a little higher than your ankles you would want to bring about 1 m² usable leather (this means leather of the same thickness and quality). More is always better.
